Tyler, The Creator released a two-minute video for his song “WUSYANAME” on Tuesday (June 22), about a week after premiering “Lumberjack.”
“WUSYANAME” is the second single from Tyler’s massively hyped sixth album, Call Me If You Get Lost, which dropped later in the week, on Friday (June 25).
The visual, directed by Tyler under his Wolf Haley moniker, begins with the singer describing a road trip to an undisclosed location. The video shows him meeting a woman at a country club.
“In California, you spend most of your life in cars, moving, traveling, searching for somewhere to land,” he narrates as the video begins. “I don’t mind tiptoeing across the globe for thrills and flying to Vienna [Austria] to see a show at the Kunsthistorisches Museum or headed south to raise dolphins on jet skis. But this time I ended up in [bleep], lookin’ for this brioche my boy told me about. That’s when I met ‘She.'”
“Aw, you look malnourished/ Let’s get some bread/ Fry the egg yolk and drown it in syrup/ You pick a spot, I pick a tail number and we can be tourists,” he raps. “Let’s go to Cannes and watch a couple indie movies that you never heard of/ Listen to bands, groove and we dance/ Disco in France, smell some perfume, head in the wind/ We can switch off.”
Tyler later adds, “Get your passport ’cause we runnin’ off/ We can sit and talk/ You can tell me everything that’s on your chest, baby, get it off.”
