The Weeknd‘s “Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)” has received Diamond certification from the RIAA.
The track earns the R&B superstar his fifth Diamond single following hits such as “The Hills,” “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk, “Blinding Lights,” and “Can’t Feel My Face.”
The Weeknd becomes only the fourth artist to earn five or more Diamond certifications.
“Earned It” was released as the lead single from the soundtrack to the 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey and featured on the Weeknd’s second studio album Beauty Behind the Madness (2015).
The track was lauded by critics upon release and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the Weeknd’s first top five single.
The song was nominated for Best Original Song at the 88th Academy Awards and won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
