The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” has broken the record for the longest run on Billboard‘s all-genre Hot 100 chart.
“Blinding Lights” logged a record-breaking 88th week on the Hot 100 chart dated August 21. The blockbuster track ended a tie with Imagine Dragons‘ “Radioactive,” which had spent 87 weeks on the chart in 2012-14.
“Blinding Lights,” released on XO/Republic Records, debuted at No. 11 on the Hot 100 dated December 14, 2019. The song currently sits at No. 18 in its 88th week. The song had peaked to the top spot and spent a total of 4 weeks atop the chart.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd’s latest song “Take My Breath” has debuted at the No. 6 spot on the Hot 100, earning the R&B singer his his 13th Hot 100 top 10 entry.
