The Weeknd emerged as the big winner at Juno Awards 2021 winning five awards.
The R&B singer won three major awards announced Friday night at the Juno Opening Night: Single of the year for “Blinding Lights,” and Songwriter of the year and Contemporary R&B recording of the year for “After Hours”.
The Weeknd also won Artist of the Year and Album of the Year awards Sunday, taking home an impressive total of five awards this year. This brings his overall Juno tally to fifteen.
Justin Bieber walked away with the award for Pop Album of the Year for his record-breaking album Changes.
The Tragically Hip received the 2021 Humanitarian Award, and delivered a stunning performance alongside indie-pop icon Feist. Shawn Mendes took home the Juno Fan Choice award.
The 50th Annual Juno Awards, highlighting Canada’s important musical achievements, celebrated its golden anniversary on Sunday night virtually.
