The Weeknd Flies Young Fan Devastated By Toronto Postponement To Philly Show

The Weeknd flew a young fan, Phoenix Prince (aged 6), to his rescheduled “After Hours Till Dawn” tour opener in Philadelphia last Thursday (July 14), after seeing the boy crying outside the Rogers Centre in Toronto following the cancellation of his show at the venue due to a network outage.

The photograph of the young boy, who was dressed up like the Weeknd in the “Blinding Lights” video, went viral on social media soon after the cancellation of the concert in Toronto, and the singer swiftly retweeted a snapshot of the devastated kid being comforted by his father. “Can someone please find him for me?” he captioned his tweet.

The Weeknd then got in touch with the boy’s family and flew Phoenix out to his Philly concert at Lincoln Financial Field.

Phoenix said he told the Weeknd that he’s “a very big fan” and “gave him Oreos and a drawing.”

The child’s father, Blake Prince, took to Instagram after the show to share a sweet backstage photo of his “Starboy” being embraced by The Weeknd.

“I wouldn’t be able to put this last week into words if I tried,” Blake wrote alongside the adorable pic. “We are forever grateful for this moment. We are beyond thankful to Abel and his beautiful crew for their friendship, hospitality, generosity and for spending day with Phoenix and I. He will cherish this experience forever. Thank you a million times over. xo.”
