The Weeknd, Doja Cat Lead Billboard Music Awards Finalists

The Weeknd leads 2022 the Billboard Music Awards finalists with 17 nominations, while Doja Cat closely follows with 14 nods.

Other top finalists include Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Olivia Rodrigo with 13 nominations each; Drake with 11; Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran with nine apiece; The Kid LAROI with eight; and BTS, Giveon and Taylor Swift with seven each.

The awards ceremony will conducted on May 15 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will be broadcast live on NBC and streamed live on Peacock as well.

The Weeknd is competing for the top artist award with Doja Cat, Drake, Rodrigo and Swift. Rodrigo also is up for best new artist, along with Giveon, Masked Wolf, Pooh Shiesty and The Kid LAROI.

The Weeknd has also bee nominated for top male artist and top Hot 100 artist, while his collaboration with Ariana Grande, “Save Your Tears (Remix),” is up for six awards.

Meanwhile, Doja’s nominations include top female artist and top Hot 100 artist, while her album Planet Her has been nominated for two awards and “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA, will compete for top Hot 100 song and top collaboration, as well as in the new top viral song category.
