Teyana Taylor Addresses ‘Extremely Hurtful’ Rumors About Hospitalization

Singer-songwriter, actress, dancer and model Teyana Taylor says rumors about her hospitalization were “extremely hurtful.”

Taylor was referring to rumors stemming from a TikTok post in late February claiming that the singer was hospitalized and canceled one of her tour dates in November due to a drug overdose.

In an interview for Ebony‘s April issue cover story, Taylor vowed that she never used drugs or had the habit of smoking in her life.

“These types of rumors and lies hurt the most because I take pride in being a mother and would never be that irresponsible,” Taylor said. “I’ve never used drugs a day in my life, nor do I smoke, and only drink occasionally.”

“My health issues were never a secret. We actually outwardly shared them with the world on our reality tv show, We Got Love,” she added, referring to the cancer scare and removal of lumps found in her breast through surgery.

Taylor, husband Iman Shumpert and their daughters Iman Tayla and Rue are featured in Ebony‘s latest cover photo.
