American business magazine Forbes has officially declared superstar singer and business mogul Rihanna a billionaire.
The cosmetics company Fenty Beauty, launched in 2017, helped Rihanna join the exclusive club, the magazine says.
Rihanna, whose original name is Robyn Fenty, is now worth $1.7 billion, Forbes estimates. It makes her the wealthiest female musician in the world and second only to Oprah Winfrey as the richest female entertainer.
The bulk of the musician’s fortune – an estimated $1.4 billion – comes from the value of her beauty line.
The rest of Rihanna’s fortune mostly comes from her stake in her lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, worth an estimated $270 million, and her earnings from her career as a chart-topping musician and actress.
Born in Barbados, Rihanna enjoys a vast fan following on her social media accounts – 101 million followers on Instagram and 102.5 million others on Twitter.
