Mississippi party-rap duo Rae Sremmurd recently released a new single, “Torpedo,” from their upcoming album, SREMM4LIFE.
SREMM4LIFE is a follow-up to Rae Sremmurd’s 2018 triple album SR3MM. The duo previously release “Denial,” the Flo Milli collab “Community Dick,” and the Duke Deuce collab “Finger Food,” from their forthcoming project.
“Torpedo”arrived with an accompanying visual directed by Matt Swinsky and Medet Shayakhmetov. The video features street racing clips and references the new album. The number four, which signifies the record is the duo’s fourth, is set on fire multiple times throughout the clip.
The track, which is all about nightlife hedonism, sees Swae Lee singing weirdly meditative melodies over a hazy synth-rap beat. Slim Jxmmi appears later on, rapping with tremendous energy.
“Takin’ off to the money, torpedo / Now all the h*es tryna find me like Nemo / Pockets is tight as a speedo / Jet fuel makin’ me float / What exactly they mad at me for?” Lee raps in the chorus.
Finding Nemo, Johnny Bravo, Joe Dirt, and Steve-O co-wrote the song, co-produced by Sonny Digital, SAV, and Austin Powerz.
