Pharrell Williams Partners With Chanel On Initiative To Nurture Black & Latinx Entrepreneurs

Hip-Hop musician Pharrell Williams has partnered with Chanel to launch a two-part initiative to boost Black & Latinx entrepreneurs by providing them “access to knowledge, insights and opportunities from industry-leading experts.”

Part one of the initiative was an all-woman panel titled “Women Who Lead,” which featured stories and advice from accomplished women entrepreneurs, including Tracee Ellis Ross, Medley co-founder Edith Cooper, Good American CEO & co-founder Emma Grede, and Imaginary Ventures co-founder & partner Natalie Massenet.

The panel discussion was moderated by Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief Samira Nasr and covered issues such as resilience & determination, mentorship, building culture & community, and the importance of clarity of vision.

Held on Friday, June 11, the discussion was available to be live-streamed by semi-finalists of Black Ambition, a “set of prizes to fund bold ideas and companies led by Black and Latinx entrepreneurs,” created by Williams, and other network members.

The second part includes interactive mentorship workshops “addressing critical capacity needs by leveraging the expertise of Chanel’s leadership community, as well as the house’s network of experts,” available to be attended by the competition’s finalists.
