Migos rapper Takeoff was shot dead in the early hours of Tuesday.
The 28-year-old artist, whose real name was Kirsnik Khari Ball, was playing dice with band member Quavo at a bowling alley in Houston at around 2:30 am when he was shot at, reports say.
Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene while Quavo was unharmed.
Two other people were injured in the shooting and hospitalized.
The shooting was related to an altercation that broke out after a private party at the venue, TMZ reports.
“I can tell you there are rappers at the party. I don’t know if they are involved in the shooting, but like I said it’s still the early process of the investigation,” a spokesperson for the Houston PD told reporters.
The Georgia native, his uncle Quavo, and cousin Offset made up the hip hop trio Migos, which were known for creating hits such as “Versace” and “Motorsport.”
