Megan Thee Stallion Delivers Tearful Testimony In Tory Lanez Trial

Megan Thee Stallion testified on Tuesday, December 13, against Tory Lanez, whom she accuses of shooting her in July 2020.

Stallion’s voice cracked after she took the stand and L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta asked her if she knew the defendant Lanez.

“Yes. We used to hang out all the time,” said Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, before admitting the two had an “intimate” but not exclusive relationship.

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, has been charged with assault with a firearm, illegal weapons possession and negligent discharge of a gun over the July 2020 incident, in which he allegedly shot Stallion during an argument after a pool party in the Hollywood Hills.

Stallion initially told police officers that she cut her foot stepping on broken glass, but days later revealed that she had suffered a gunshot wound. She then accused Lanez through Instagram in August that year. If convicted, Lanez faces more than 22 years in prison.

Stallion also opened out about her depression and suicidal thoughts, as she teared up repeatedly. She also expressed regret for ever coming forward about the incident.

“I can’t believe I have to come here and do this,” she told a jury in Los Angeles. “I wish he would’ve just shot and killed me if I knew I was going to have to go through this torture.”
