Lil Nas X Teases BET Diss Track After Awards Snub

Lil Nas X recently took to social media to tease a new song, “Late To The Party,” in which vents his disappointment at not being nominated for any BET Awards this year.

In the clip, Nas X is seen sitting shirtless in his car as he lip-syncs along to the track. “F- BET, f- BET/ F- BET, f- BET/ Lick it on up, slurp it/ Make it sloppy, ok, ok, ok, ok/ Look at how I top sh-/ I just put like three up in the top 10/ And I don’t need nobody/ I just need these ccs on my body/ Everything I do be tryna run, go make a profit/ Read about it,” he rap-sings.

“Thank you bet awards. an outstanding zero nominations again,” Nas X tweeted last week after the list of nominations did not contain his name for any of the BET Awards, adding a snarky, “Black excellence!”

He then wrote, “I just feel like black gay ppl have to fight to be seen in this world and even when we make it to the top mfs try to pretend we are invisible.” The singer subsequently deleted his posts.

Responding to Lil Nas X’s new song and tweet storm, BET has come out with a statement of their own, saying that they not only love the rapper but have showcased “his extraordinary talent and creativity” twice on their show, once at the BET Awards in 2019 and again in 2021.
