Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar & Lil Nas X Lead 2022 MTV VMA Nominations

Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Nas X lead the nominations for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The three rappers have racked up a total of seven nods each, with both Lil Nas X and Harlow being nominated together for their smash duet “Industry Baby” in five different categories.

Lamar has been nominated for Best Cinematography for two of his music videos: “Family Ties” and “N95.”

Behind them, Doja Cat and Harry Styles tie for the second-most nominations with six each.

Several VMA vets – Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd – follow with highlights in five categories.

Lil Nas X and Harlow are up for serious competition for the highly coveted Video of the Year award. They will face off against Doja’s “Woman,” Styles’s “As It Was,” Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy,” Sheeran’s “Shivers,” Olivia Rodrigo‘s “Brutal” and Swift’s “All Too Well” (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version).

Bad Bunny, Drake, Sheeran, Styles, Harlow, Lil Nas X and Lizzo are vying for Artist of the Year award.

Song of the Year nominees include Adele‘s “Easy on Me,” Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever,” Doja Cat’s “Woman,” Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix),” Lizzo’s “About Damn Time,” and The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber‘s “Stay.”

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards will return to New Jersey’s Prudential Center in Newark on August 28.
