Dozens of stars have joined a social media rally in support of the “Stand Up for Ukraine” pledging event taking place on April 9.
The event aims to mobilize significant funding to help vulnerable civilians impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and to support refugees.
Ahead of the event, a global social media rally supported by Global Citizen will take place on April 8 in response to a new video from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in which he called on the international community to help people affected by the invasion.
Dozens of artists, entertainers, athletes, and advocates will join the rally. The array of musicians who will feature in the rally include The Weeknd, Alanis Morissette, Billie Eilish, Finneas, Madonna, Trisha Yearwood, Katy Perry, Luke Combs, Miley Cyrus, U2, Elton John, Celine Dion, Billy Joel, Hugh Jackman, Green Day, Juanes, Garth Brooks, the Jonas Brothers, Kacey Musgraves, Pharrell Williams, Stevie Nicks, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Ozzy Osbourne, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tame Impala, Chris Rock, Jon Batiste, Alejandro Sanz, Demi Lovato and Pearl Jam.
Together, the Stand Up for Ukraine pledging event and rally seek to raise billions of dollars to bolster the United Nations’ flash funding appeal to assist the more than 3.7 million refugees who have fled Ukraine, the 6.5 million people displaced within the country, and other global humanitarian priorities.
