Cardi B‘s “Bodak Yellow” has joined 1 billion views club on YouTube, becoming the fastest solo female rap song to reach that mark on the platform.
“Bodak Yellow” joins Cardi B’s “I Like It,” her 2019 collab with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, to reach 1 billion views on the video streaming platform. Cardi first achieved the feat after the video for Maroon 5‘s “Girls Like You,” in which she featured, topped 1 billion views.
“Fifteen thousand dollars, A billion views later!!!!! Wow that’s crazy! Super dope,” Cardi B tweeted in response to the milestone. “Thank you all for all the support throughout the years… Back to the lab. Love & appreciate y’all.”
“Bodak Yellow,” alternatively titled “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” was released on June 16, 2017, by Atlantic Records as the lead single from Cardi B’s debut studio album Invasion of Privacy (2018).
The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks, making Cardi B the second female rapper to reach No. 1 with a solo song, following Lauryn Hill‘s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998.
