Cardi B Weighs In On Ukraine-Russia Crisis

Cardi B has commented about the latest developments in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis.

The United States has imposed financial sanctions against eastern Ukraine’s breakaway regions of Donetsk and Luhansk in response to Russia recognizing the rebel territories.

The retaliatory action by Washington came just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics as independent states.

“Wish these world leaders stop tripping about power and really think about whose really getting affected (citizens) besides the whole world is in a crisis,” Cardi B wrote on Twitter in an apparent response to a fan seeking her thoughts on Putin’s actions.

“War, sanctions, invasions should be the last thing these leaders worry about,” according to the “WAP” singer.

When another fan wondered if it wasn’t Cardi B behind the message, she clarified her stand by posting a video.

“This phone is not hacked, it’s really me!” said the 29-year-old rapper and songwriter whose original name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar. “I actually want to say a lot of things, but I’m just gonna mind my business because sometimes, I feel like I have such a big platform that if I don’t say the right things, I might get killed.”

Cardi B made her political impartiality clear in the video by saying that she is neither on NATO’s side nor on Russia’s side but actually on the citizens’ side, “because at the end of the day, the world is having a crisis right now.”

“This inflation not only in America, but everywhere in the world! It’s really hard to get the economy back up. There is so much shipments and embarkments backed up, China’s not really messing with us, so a lot of things are behind, a lot of goods are behind, and this s-t just made it a lot more complicated, so I’m just really annoyed by this,” she added.
